I am Ekow Kwakye, a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern under the supervision of Sherell Hebert, M.A., LPC-S. My Master of Philosophy in Guidance and Counseling was obtained from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana in 2012. I also took courses at Prairie View A and M University, in Texas as a way of developing myself professionally and keeping up with the paradigms of counseling in the United States. My bachelor’s degree in Education was obtained from the University of Cape Coast in 2005.
I do have experience of working with people from diverse cultural, religious, and ethnic backgrounds. Some of the mental health issues I handle are anxiety, eating disorders, self-image, depression, mood problems, academic counseling, substance use and abuse, as well as career guidance and counseling. I am also interested in family and marriage counseling, especially pre-marital couples. The clients I see are children, adolescents and adults.
I can also be contacted to facilitate and/ or make presentations on youth development, leadership, study skills, study habits, goal setting, and how to manage test anxiety.
